With the help of God Almighty,
We, Saud bin Abdulaziz, King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,
Since the Railway Authority was established to facilitate transportation and to assist our people in easing the burdens of living, and based on what has been presented by the Minister of Finance and National Economy,
We hereby order the following:
Article One
Freight, loading, and unloading charges of the Railway Authority shall be reduced as follows, in accordance with the schedule attached to this decree:
• A. Charges for shipping under‑capacity wagons and parcels shall be reduced by one‑third from the current tariff.
• B. The fare for a full‑capacity wagon between Dammam and Riyadh shall be reduced by 20% from the current tariff.
• C. Loading and unloading charges for goods on wagons at Dammam Port and the customs yard shall be reduced by 1 riyal per ton for general goods, and 1.5 riyals per ton for goods packed in sacks.
Likewise, the loading and unloading charge for a single wagon of timber shall be reduced from 140 riyals to 120 riyals per wagon.
Article Two
This reduction shall take effect beginning on the first day of Ramadan 1374 AH.
Article Three
The Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance and National Economy shall implement this decree.
We also instruct the Ministry of Finance to review this tariff again for further reductions in the near future, God willing.
