By the grace of God,
We, Saud bin Abdulaziz,
King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,
In view of the importance of transportation and its positive impact on the development of local production and the facilitation of the exchange of interests among the inhabitants of the country,
We hereby order the following:
1.
A paved asphalt road shall be constructed connecting the eastern and western regions of the Kingdom, beginning at the port of Jeddah and ending in Dammam, passing through Mecca, Taif, Riyadh, Al‑Ahsa, and Dammam, and traversing the villages along the route.
2.
The Minister of Finance shall allocate the necessary funds for this project in the budgets of the coming years, beginning with the fiscal Hijri year 1375 A.H.
3.
The Ministry of Communications shall study the proposed road, prepare the required designs, and place the project for public tender, in coordination with the Minister of Finance.
4.
The Prime Minister shall implement this decree and communicate it to all concerned authorities.
