With the help of God Almighty,
We, Saud bin Abdulaziz, King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,
After reviewing Royal Decree No. 5 / 16 / 1 / 1416 dated 23 Sha‘ban 1374 AH, which ordered the integration of the functions of the Ministry of Communications into the Ministry of Finance and National Economy,
and based on the submission presented by the Minister of Finance and National Economy,
We hereby order the following:
• A first‑rank position shall be established in the Ministry of Finance and National Economy under the title “Deputy Minister of Finance for Communications Affairs”, which shall serve as the authority responsible—under the supervision of the Minister of Finance and National Economy—for all communications‑related functions.
• The Directorates of Telegraph and Post, the Roads Authority, and the Railways shall be affiliated with this Deputy Ministry.
• The approved budget under the name of the Ministry of Communications for the year 1374 shall continue to be applied for the remainder of that year, while eliminating any items that can be dispensed with. The budget for the new year shall then be submitted as part of the unified budget of the Ministry of Finance and National Economy.
• The Prime Minister shall implement this decree by notifying all concerned parties.
