King Saud and the Islamic Conference

'We have decided to fight for the Glory of God and, with our brothers in Islam,
call to His straight path. Let those who are present inform those who are absent."
King Saud had received the following message from the Secretary General of the
Organization of the Islamic Conference, at the time Mr Anwar Al Sadat, on 9 March
1957, which is in fact a historical document that proves the allegiance of all Muslims
to King Saud as grand Imam of all Muslims.

In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

His Majesty King Saud Ibn Abdel Aziz Al Saud, Chairman of the Supreme
Council of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, may God bless and protect
him.

The Organization of the Islamic Conference takes pride in your judicious
leadership and would like to convey to Your Majesty its appreciation and gratitude
for your generous contribution that enables it to fulfil its Islamic mission and
vindicate Islam.

I am convinced that this great Islamic Organization could not have been
founded had it not been for your gracious encouragement nor could it have
undertaken all its important activities in such a brief period since its inception had it
not been for your generosity, attention, noble guidance and judicious counsel. Your
gracious care has extended to embrace all Muslims in the various countries who can
but address fervent thanks to the custodian of the holy places and sponsor of the
Organization of the Islamic Conference which seeks to promote the cause of Islam
and the well-being of Muslims everywhere.
In my capacity as Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic
Conference, I convey to you the heartfelt thanks and gratitude of the Muslim people
and their fervent prayers to protect your Majesty as defender of Islam and supporter
of all Muslims. May God's peace, mercy be upon you.
