Umm Al‑Qura published the account included in the prince’s letter—whether in full or in an abbreviated form—stating that the Imam had remained in good health and regular in his affairs. On the morning of the 10th of Dhu al‑Hijjah, he developed symptoms resembling jaundice and remained in that condition for three days. On Friday, the 13th of Dhu al‑Hijjah, at eight o’clock, the Imam passed away. The letter concluded with prayers for God’s mercy upon him and for his place in Paradise.”
