A poem praising Al‑Nasiriyyah and Prince Saud

How splendid Al‑Nasiriyyah is. By Ali Hassan Ghal.

The poet visited the garden of Al‑Nasiriyyah, where the palace of His Excellency the Crown Prince stands.
He was captivated by its beauty, and the result of his admiration was this lovely poem:

How splendid is Al‑Nasiriyyah,
its radiant beauty shining bright.
The poet visited its garden near the palace
of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince,
and his admiration blossomed into these graceful lines.

How wonderful is Al‑Nasiriyyah—
its charm surpasses all description.
It holds forms of beauty
that captivate gentle hearts.

Birds sing upon its tender branches,
one bird answering another
with melodies soft and pure.

Flowers of every color
offer you their greetings—
deep crimson like luscious lips,
bright yellow gleaming like gold,
and pure white glowing
like the souls of the sincere.

Green leaves boast their richness,
each shade with its own delight.
Water flows gently,
and the fields drink their fill.

O son of the beloved King,
and one of the dearest to his people—
we pray for your life to be filled
with joy and ease.
Live long for the nation
whose love you carry in your heart.

As long as a singer sings,
he will say:
How magnificent is Al‑Nasiriyyah.
