A poem by the poet ‘Aqla bin Abdulaziz Al‑‘Aqla Al‑Tamimi

A rider came before we even arrived,
Telling a tale of Saud that filled us with awe.
He spoke of one who settles the trembling heart,
Leaving people stunned, unable to tell white from black.
The mares’ hooves thundered as they struck the ground,
Everyone prepared, and all ears turned to the rider.
You’d see him atop his horse, and fear would rise,
A sight no foe could ever welcome.
With a red headband whose ends fall a forearm long,
Standing tall like a peak upon a mountain ridge.
He stirred the crowds, and souls followed him willingly,
Peerless, as if wearing the armor of David.
May he reach the blessed basin of the great Intercessor,
On the Day when all creation stands witness
