This poem was recited by Sheikh Sa‘doun bin Mutliq al‑Nassafi before King Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Saud during the King’s visit to the city of Tabuk.
He said:
Welcome to the King, from the day he arrived from afar,
a thousand greetings to him, beyond all count.
When he came, new grass sprouted across the land,
Najd turned green, and so did the deserts and the towns.
I bear witness that among rulers, you stand apart,
may all kings be sacrificed for your sake, O Abu Fahd.
The Shari‘ah you uphold with the green palm branch,
a ruler of justice, blessed with fortune at your side.
May God have mercy on them all and grant them the highest ranks in Paradise.
