“Crown Prince Saud bin Abdulaziz — later King Saud, may God have mercy on him — during his visit to France following his accession to the Crown in 1933, as part of a broader tour that included several major European states (France, Britain, Italy, and the Netherlands) aimed at strengthening the relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the European nations.
He was received at the Élysée Palace and held meetings with numerous French officials. Si Qaddour Ben Ghabrit, the Moroccan Minister Plenipotentiary, was appointed to accompany him as interpreter. He was welcomed at the airport by André de Fouquières.
Accompanying him were senior advisers of his father, King Abdulaziz — Fuad Bey Hamza, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; Medhat Sheikh al‑Ard; Mohammed Sheikho, Secretary to King Saud; his personal aide Saleh Al‑Ali; and Fahd bin Kuraidis.
