King Saud Visit To Yanbu

Saudi Projects Achieved in Yanbu

Five schools were established in Yanbu Al‑Bahr and Yanbu Al‑Nakhl, in addition to a large school staffed by thirteen teachers, and two other schools whose construction had begun. A major school capable of accommodating the largest number of students was also founded by His Majesty King Saud during his recent visit to Yanbu.

Water was brought to Yanbu from a source located 52 kilometers away, at a cost of millions of riyals. From its main reservoir, twenty waterfalls flow into the residential districts, in addition to several other waterfalls—large and small—constructed on the outskirts of the town.

A Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice was formed in Yanbu Al‑Bahr, chaired by Sheikh Ibrahim bin Misfir and six members from the religious community. In Yanbu Al‑Nakhl, a similar committee was formed with five members under the chairmanship of Sheikh Ibrahim bin ‘Isa, under the supervision of the Governor of Yanbu.

By order of His Majesty King Saud, a committee was established to create a facility for orphans, chaired by His Eminence Sheikh Hamid Qari, Judge of Yanbu; Sheikh Mahmoud Khateeb, Director of Finance in Yanbu; and Sheikh Muhammad Ahmad Othman, Director of Endowments in Yanbu.

His Majesty King Saud also ordered the construction of two mosques in Yanbu and the repair of five Senussi mosques as well as other local mosques. This task was entrusted to His Eminence Sheikh Abdulmalik bin Ibrahim.

A committee for the renovation of mosques was formed under the chairmanship of Sheikh Hamad Al‑‘Issa, Governor of Yanbu, along with the Director of Finance and two notable figures from Yanbu.
