King Saud’s Telegram of support to President Nasser — June 1967

A Telegram to the President from Saud

To His Excellency,
Brother President Gamal Abdel Nasser,
Hero of the Arab Nation,

In this decisive moment in the history of the Arab nation and of human dignity—indeed, at this very hour when you lead us all, from the Atlantic to the Gulf, and when the heart, soul, and blood of every Arab march beneath your triumphant banner—

I salute you with the greeting of the victory that, God willing, is soon to come.

And know, Your Excellency, that all the Arab and Islamic peoples—indeed, all who possess a living conscience—stand with you, supporting you with full faith in victory over the tyrants and the barbaric forces of Zionism and colonialism.

God is your supporter… He strengthens you, and behind you stands the entire Arab nation, which shall never lay down its arms until death or victory.

God is Great. Glory and endurance belong to the Arabs.
