It gives me great pleasure on this happy day—the anniversary of the accession of His Majesty my Lord King Saud to the throne of this nation—to express what is in my heart and in the hearts of the people of Riyadh, indeed of all the Saudi people: love, loyalty, and confidence in our revered King. We pray to God to preserve His Majesty and to grant him success in completing what the late King—may God forgive him—began.
My brothers: Whoever looks at the reign of His Majesty King Saud will find, praise be to God, an era of prosperity and well‑being—an era of reform and action. Wherever I look, in every corner of the state and every region of the country, I see work directed toward what benefits this dear people. I see my Lord the King watching over our interests with vigilant eyes, overseeing these noble undertakings.
On behalf of the people of Riyadh in particular, I extend profound thanks to His Majesty for the reforms and comprehensive renaissance he has achieved in this beloved city of ours.
