On this noble occasion—the anniversary of the ascension of our Sovereign, His Majesty King Saud bin Abdulaziz, to the blessed throne of the Kingdom—it pleases me, as a citizen, to join the people, of whom I am one, in the joy that fills hearts and overflows onto tongues and pens.
There are moments of happiness that invite abundant expression, yet there are others before which one stands in wonder, unsure which aspect of joy to speak of, or which deserves mention above the rest. For all of them are great and noble, and all merit praise and recognition.
Whatever I may say or do will not add to the people’s knowledge of His Majesty’s works, projects, and reforms. They speak for themselves—achievements that grow clearer each day, reforms that become more evident with time, deepening the people’s attachment to their King, strengthening their loyalty and devotion, and inspiring sacrifice and readiness to give all—family, wealth, and life.
These voices rising from the heart of the Kingdom and from all its corners—declaring loyalty, devotion, and sacrifice—are but one expression of this love and fidelity. And nothing surpasses this loyalty except the noble affection His Majesty holds for his people, an affection that fills his great heart and appears clearly in his care and compassion for every matter, great or small, in this blessed land.
It is, without doubt, a rare harmony between a great King and a noble people—a harmony unmatched, or rather, one without equal. We feel it as a sincere sentiment from the people toward their King, and we see it as vast achievements in every field of reform from the King toward his people.
As one of those honored by His Majesty’s trust to serve the public, I feel—as does every minister and every official—that His Majesty constantly urges us toward continuous work, persistent follow‑up, and precise attention to detail. With the intelligence, insight, and clarity of judgment God has granted him, and with his endurance in work and travel for the sake of serving his people and elevating their condition, he is truly capable of achieving—by the shortest, most effective, and most beneficial paths—everything he has envisioned for his people, for the Arabs, and for Islam.
Aided in all this—beyond his personal qualities—by God’s continuous support and divine guidance, for he works for God and in God’s cause. “And God will surely support those who support Him.”
Blessed, then, is the Saudi people—and the Arabs and Muslims—with the grace God has bestowed upon them in the person of His Majesty King Saud bin Abdulaziz. And blessed is this great King with a loyal, faithful, and devoted people.
May God grant us, and the Arabs and Muslims, goodness, honor, glory, and dignity under our beloved Sovereign—the King of the Arabs and of Islam—His Majesty King Saud bin Abdulaziz, who has fulfilled what he pledged to God. We ask the Almighty for further success, guidance, support, and victory. He is the best Protector and the best Helper.
