Among the most notable documents from that period is a poem sent by the poet Saeed al‑Najai, may God have mercy on him, to King Saud, in which he says:
‘O messenger to Saud, convey to him our news;
Tell him that ʿAsir have reached the height of their hopes;
And that all of them have entered into his protection.’”
