The marble commemorative plaque marking the first restoration of the Holy Kaaba and its roof in the Saudi era, during the reign of King Saud—may God have mercy on him—whose restoration works began on 18 Rajab 1377 AH.
On 12 Sha‘ban, a ceremony was held to place the final stone of the marble cladding on the wall of the Kaaba, adorned with marble, engineered stone, decorative elements, marble columns, and mosaics sourced from Wadi Fatimah. The celebration marked the completion of the renewal of the Holy Kaaba’s roof and the repair of its structural cracks, in the presence of ambassadors and ministers from Arab and Islamic countries.
