His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Saud has passed away

The Royal Court issued the following statement today:

“It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who passed away outside the Kingdom on Tuesday, 16 / 11 / 1441 AH.
May God envelop him in His vast mercy, forgiveness, and pleasure, and grant him a place in His spacious Paradise. Indeed, to God we belong and to Him we shall return.”

 

Biography of the Late Prince Khalid bin Saud — May God Have Mercy on Him

Prince Khalid was the ninth son of King Saud. He was born in 1940 in Taif. His mother was Princess Jameela bint As‘ad Ibrahim Mar‘i. His siblings, in order, were:
Princess Jawaher (may God have mercy on her), Prince Abdulmajid (may God have mercy on him), Princess Fahda, Princess Mudhawi (may God have mercy on her), Princess Sheikha (may God have mercy on her), Prince Abdulmalik (may God have mercy on him), and Princess Basma.
He had one daughter, Princess Ahoud.

He received his primary and secondary education at Ma‘had Al‑Anjal, where he served as captain of the football team, winning several championships.

He held the position of Commander of the National Guard from 1376–1379 AH (1957–1959),
and later served as Chief of the Royal Court from 1380–1382 AH.

Prince Khalid accompanied his father, King Saud, until the King’s passing. He then returned to the Kingdom and resided in Jeddah.

He passed away in Morocco, and funeral prayers were performed for him at the Grand Mosque (Al‑Masjid Al‑Haram) on Thursday, 9 July 2020, corresponding to 13 Dhul‑Qi‘dah 1441 AH. He was laid to rest in Al‑Adl Cemetery in Makkah.
