"I have visited Sanaa at the kind invitation of His Majesty my brother Imam
Ahmed, an invitation highly valued by me, because it emanated from a brother,
consolidating the bonds of friendship between our two countries.
"Since my accession to the throne of this Kingdom, one of my objectives was to
promote friendly relations among all Arabs and Muslims. I was delighted and
overjoyed to witness the sincere friendship and genuine fraternity of my Brother
Imam Ahmed, besides his firm determination to promote the well-being of Arabs
and Muslims. It was gratifying to note the determination of His Majesty the Imam
and of his government to enhance the status of Yemen, undertake construction,
scientific and economic projects and attract foreign investments to exploit the natural
resources of the country, thus enabling Yemen to keep pace with other nations and
progress."
His Majesty went on to say: 'We have discussed this issue extensively with his
Majesty and drew up an appropriate plan of action in order to cooperate with Yemen
with the objective of raising its economic standard and exploiting its natural
resources. I was extremely happy to note the profound affection of his people and
the unity, support and solidarity of the royal family with the Yemeni people in
confronting any aggression against their country, because they are fully determined
to safeguard their sovereignty and independence. They can count on our support as
well as that of all the Arabs and Muslims."
