The poet Mohammed bin Nasser Al‑Hazmi, one of the well‑known poets, and a descendant of the poet Saif Al‑Ghuwaynmi, author of the poem “Al‑Maslaha”, may God have mercy on them all, recited the following:
O God, O You who are sought, O Just in Your sight,
You who raise the banners—none but You is our support.
Grant us Your help against the darkness of vision,
and if You test us, be our aid and companion.
We, the Al‑Wolamin, are givers of protection,
defenders who break the pride of aggressors.
We scatter the gathered enemy when they rise,
and by morning all tribes know what happened.
Our young men stand firm at midday,
and our elders rise before dawn to prepare.
The spoils we seized by force in fierce battles,
we took them, and the defeated fled in confusion.
When planting is mentioned, we are the ones who sow,
never sparing our lives—you know this well.
At dawn of Al‑Khinayn, the Turks sought the land,
they wanted our homeland, but fled in fear.
With bayonets and rifles forged by unbelievers,
our men faced danger without seeking help.
They circled, and many shields were shattered,
but our people repelled them, crushing the attackers.
We sacrifice ourselves before them, even the weak,
and whoever lacked courage remained small and sorrowful.
