The King’s rifle (a matchlock of the Ottoman‑Roman type): it was called a ‘matchlock’ because it operated by loading gunpowder and igniting it with a burning match, and ‘cannon‑type’ because its form is not close‑range in appearance, though its actual length reaches nearly two meters. It is adorned with copper and silver star motifs, and bears the following inscription:

‘Crown Prince and Deputy General, 1352 AH
Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.’
