The first words spoken by King Saud—may God have mercy on him—after I had the honor of meeting him in his private suite at the Shepherd’s Hotel in Cairo were:
“We were fully confident of the warm welcome of our brother, President Gamal Abdel Nasser.
We know well his noble Arab hospitality.
When we received President Abdel Nasser’s message, we felt deep joy and contentment at being in an Arab country, among our brothers, to fulfill our Islamic duties and to raise our children upon sound Islamic principles.”
