A Three‑Million‑Dollar Donation in Support of the Arab Cause
King Saud made a generous contribution of three million US dollars, requesting that it be directed toward supporting the great efforts undertaken by the Armed Forces of the United Arab Republic in defense of the entire Arab nation.
He sent a letter to President Gamal Abdel Nasser, expressing his sentiments and intentions. In his message, he wrote:
“Your Excellency, Brother President Gamal Abdel Nasser,
Great Leader of Arabism,
On this historic occasion, in which you assume the reins of leadership for the Arab nation and the Muslim peoples to safeguard Arab dignity and defend their rights, I extend to Your Excellency the highest expressions of esteem, pride, and admiration—on my own behalf, and on behalf of my sons, my family, and the people of the Arabian Peninsula—for your triumphant leadership, which stands as the hope of a brighter future and the aspiration of every Arab and Muslim, until God grants complete victory under your inspired guidance, God willing.
I also take this opportunity to salute the people of the United Arab Republic and its valiant Armed Forces, praying for their certain victory, glory, and honor in this decisive battle.
I ask that Your Excellency accept, on behalf of these forces, an amount of three million US dollars, as our contribution toward their burdens, for they present to us the finest examples of courage, sacrifice, and devotion in the cause of the entire Arab nation.
May God protect you, watch over you, and bless your steps.

The King’s Sons Volunteer
The sons of King Saud also sent a telegram to President Nasser, stating:
“On this great day, as the Arab nation—under your wise leadership—confronts the aggression against our Arab homeland, we can do no less than offer ourselves to stand alongside our brothers in the Arab Army on the front lines.
We ask Your Excellency to accept our voluntary service, for we are ready at any time and in any place to serve our Arab nation.
May God grant you success and support you with His victory. Forward, and may triumph always be yours.”
