He was one of the senior officers in the Royal Guard and among the most loyal and protective men. When King Abdulaziz — may God have mercy on him — entered Makkah, he selected a number of men from the Hijaz Brigade who had not departed with the Sharif, and among them was Sharif Mahmoud al‑Hasani al‑Sirwani al‑Hashimi.
