Muḥyī al‑Dīn Riḍā records in his memoirs

Muḥyī al‑Dīn Riḍā records in his memoirs—quoting his friend, King ʿAbdulaziz’s physician Dr. Muḥammad al‑Shawwāf—that he would accompany Prince Saud, when he was Crown Prince, as he concealed his identity and prayed among the ordinary worshippers in the Sacred Mosque.

King Saud was widely known for his devotion. He led several of the obligatory prayers in the Two Holy Mosques, and he would step forward to lead the congregation in major mosques during his travels to various cities.

Muḥyī al‑Dīn Riḍā further recounts—again citing Dr. al‑Shawwāf—that he personally accompanied Prince Saud during these discreet visits, when the Prince would join the worshippers in the Haram without revealing who he was.
