Congratulations to the People of the Peninsula on Their Just Imam

The great departed leader, the late King Abdulaziz—may God have mercy on him—did not follow the path of certain Arab leaders who monopolized leadership during their lifetimes and blocked the way for those who would succeed them, using every possible means. Then, when God took them, the nation would feel a void that could not be filled, stumbling for years before finding a worthy leader to replace the one who had passed.

King Abdulaziz was far‑sighted. As soon as he sensed that his end was near, he began preparing his son Saud, proclaiming him Crown Prince and gradually entrusting him with the reins of power—under his supervision and guidance—until he officially delegated to him all the responsibilities of kingship a few months before his passing, after Saud had already been exercising them in practice during the final years.

For this reason, King Saud ascends the throne of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia today fully prepared and thoroughly trained for the burdens of rule. Neither the citizens within the Kingdom, nor the Arabs in neighboring states, nor the representatives of foreign nations will feel any change in governance or any shift in the Kingdom’s internal, Arab, or international stance. The great late King desired this stability and continuity—and his wish has been fulfilled. This is a great blessing from God upon a young nation striving earnestly to secure its rightful place among advanced states.

King Saud is distinguished by his idealism and his detachment from worldly vanities—he is a true reflection of his late father. He is firm in upholding the limits set by God and His Messenger, generous to the highest degree, patient when in a position of strength, humble to the utmost, simple and approachable with his intimates and visitors without compromising dignity, and elevated in his gatherings above frivolity. He knows neither weariness nor fatigue in obeying God, upholding His laws, watching over his Kingdom, and caring for the Arabs in every land.

Alongside all this, he possesses sound judgment, original opinion, deliberation, and great patience. He truly embodies the qualities of the just imam as described by the greatest preacher of the Arabs, Al‑Hasan Al‑Basri.

Congratulations to King Saud on the throne of the Peninsula, and congratulations to the people of the Peninsula on their just Imam. May God prolong his life and support him with victory from His presence.
