A national Broadcasting station at a cost of nine million Saudi Riyal was established in (1954), then in (1955), tele-communications were extended to communicate with the Arab countries, followed by international tele-communications was operated in (1956) and the following year, in (1957) the first telecommunication building was inaugurated by King Saud in Jeddah. Post offices were set up all over the Kingdom.
The Transportation Department was founded in (¬1954), and its first project was to construct infrastructure in order to connect Holy cities with each other , like (Al-Medina- Jeddah highway, Taif- Mecca highway), followed by building the commercial harbors of :Dammam, Jizan, Yanbu and Wajh.
