The First Visit
King Saud—may God have mercy on him—visited the town of ‘Irqah prior to his accession to the throne. Tents were erected near the ‘Ajaybah farm, opposite Al‑‘Ubaydiyyah and close to the palm groves of the Al‑Yazid family. The traditional Najdi ‘ardah was performed, and a welcoming address on behalf of the people of ‘Irqah was delivered by Abdulrahman Al‑Shuwaier.
